![]() When I have this set to 60 and if I reboot to Ubuntu, it works for some days. In Windows 10 there is an application called Asus Battery Health which allows you to limit the charging the 60 or 80 to improve your battery life. I could also do some more tweaking any how to make it not go through as much battery as well. I have a Asus dual boot laptop with Ubuntu 18.10/Windows 10. I'm guessing there might be a way to manually adjust it or just accept that if I see i am approaching 50% I should plug in.Īlthough roughly an hour of activity is fine for me in most cases considering this laptop is plugged in most of the time, enough time for an average meeting else where before returning to my desk. You can indeed prolong moderns Li-Ion batteries lifespan by keeping them at a lower charge. ![]() considering my level of expertise it would probably be better just to get a new battery -_- but the frugal (cheep?) side of me wants to have the laptop consider where it keeps powering off as the charge floor (~0%). Advanced power management (Laptop Power Profile selection, battery charge limit and Panel Overdrive) and many other functions from recent laptops. Now the debate of pulling apart the battery to check the cells or to get another battery. I had the laptop just sit and discharge again to see if that would help the estimations maybe self adjust(which I know isn't the greatest idea), but looking at the report graphs again I could see that something might be up with the battery. ![]() That is a really good point, I didn't think about the possibility of bad cell.
